German Foreign Minister, Heiko Maas has emphasized that the ceasefire is an important step forward that would enhance the UN efforts in resolving the Libyan issue.

Mass said in press statements that his country focused in the Berlin conference on the withdrawal of international parties from the Libyan conflict, which is a precondition for facilitating the peace process, as he put it.

"Russia was part of the Berlin Conference from the beginning. It realizes the need to make progress and achieve an international agreement in the Libyan conflict," Maas added, expressing hope that the Libyan parties will implement the results of the conference
