German Chancellor, Angela Merkel reaffirmed support for the Government of National Accord (GNA) and the efforts of the UN envoy to Libya, Ghassan Salame, stressing to make all possible efforts to stop the fighting and resume negotiations.
This came during a meeting with the Chargé d'Affaires of the Libyan Embassy in Berlin, Siddik Al-Sanousi on the sidelines of the annual reception held by the German Foreign Ministry for heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Germany.
For his part, Sanousi called on the German Chancellor to exert more pressure on the Security Council, in order to condemn the attack on Tripoli and bind the aggressor forces to return to where they came from.
