The General Electricity Company of Libya GECOL urged the Ministry of Interior and all security authorities in Zliten to secure the electrical grid, which is being subjected to a "daily-acts" of theft and sabotage, leading to power outages in some areas.

The company explained in a statement that the attacks on the network are still ongoing, the latest was the looting of 300 meters of power lines south of Zliten about two days ago by an unknown group.

On November 06, the GECOL clarified that an armed group had damaged the public network in the city of Zliten by stealing 2,700 meters of electrical wiring in the Magar area south of Zliten.
