Director of the Information Department of the General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL), Mohamed al-Takouri, said that the technical team of the GECOL is facing difficulties in reaching the damaged main transmission lines in the area of clashes south of Tripoli.

Al-Takouri confirmed in a press statement the damage of four stations south of the capital, in addition to the power adaptor of Altba in Ein Zara region, which lead to increasing the hours of load shedding in the western and southern region.

He also clarified that repair work at Al-Khoms power station is still ongoing and could take two months before it backs to service
