The General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) is to start maintenance of power transmission lines damaged by the war south of Tripoli, after the announcement of the ceasefire, director of the GECOL media department Mohamed Takouri has said.

Al-Takouri ensured consumers in a press statement that the power outputs in the power stations is continuous and sufficient.

He explained that the reasons for the blackouts and load shedding hours were due to the inability of the maintenance teams to enter areas of clashes to repair the damaged transmission lines at these sites.
