The General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) announced the death of one of its engineers and a Sudanese worker after a heap of sand collapsed on them.

The two were buried alive while digging to install a power transmission tower in Ajdabiya with a depth of seven meters.

The company said that the nature of the sandy soil led to the collapse of the sand and by the time the rescue team removed them it was too late.
