The head of the Crisis Committee of the Central Tripoli Municipality, Nasser Karioui, confirmed the end of the rubbish crisis temporarily, following the agreement with the General Services Company on the transfer of rubbish to dumps outside the capital after the municipality of Bu Salim closed the landfill located within its administrative borders.
Rubbish from the streets of Tripoli is now being collected after starting to pile up since last Thursday.
Earlier, the Central Tripoli Municipality noted that its attempts to solve the problem of the landfill for the city of Tripoli failed because of the decision of the Municipal Council of Abu Salim to close the landfill as local residents in the vicinity demanded it to be closed.
