The French Foreign Minister, Jean-Yves Le Drian, plans to travel to the capital Tripoli on Monday for a visit that aims to bridge the gap between the conflicting Libyan parties and bring their views closer together in order to hold elections before the end of the year.

According to government sources, Le Drian will hold talks with the Chairman of the Presidential Council, Fayez Sarraj, the President of the High Council of State, Khaled Al-Mishri, and the Chairman of the High National Elections Commission, Emad Sayeh, in addition to representatives from Misrata in an attempt to convince them to adhere to Paris Agreement.
