French Foreign Minister, Jean-Yves Le Drian, ended Monday his visit to Libya that aimed at strengthening the outcome of France-brokered meeting between Head of Presidential Council Fayaz Sirraj and Chief of Dignity Operation Khalifa Haftar.

He started with Tripoli where he met with Fayaz Sirraj and President of High Council of State Abdul-Rahman Swaihli. Then he visited Misrata and met with the city’s military and civil leaders. Later, he moved to the east and held separate talks with Khalifa Haftar and HoR Speaker Aqailah Saleh.

Member of High Council of State, Abdul-Rahman Al-Shatar, accused Le Drian of attempting to impose Khalifa Haftar on Libyans. He tweeted: “Does democratic secular France accept a military man to rule it?
