The French ambassador to Libya, Brigitte Curmi, stressed the importance of Misrata's role in completing the political process in Libya and invited a delegation representing the city to visit Paris to complete discussions on the French initiative announced in May.
Curmi said in a meeting with members of the Municipal Council and representatives of Misrata in the House of Representatives and the High Council of State that the purpose of her visit to the city is to see the opinion of the representatives of the city regarding issues that concern Libya, especially with regard to the possibility of moving to provide the conditions for the success of a fair electoral process, which should emerge the country from political stalemate as well as to create opportunities for a consensus between the conflicting parties and the role of the UN in doing so.
