The World Food Program (WFP) confirmed that France had contributed 370,000 euros to support 3,500 people in the Fezzan region in Southern Libya by launching agricultural projects amongst others.

The WFP said in a statement that the funding is intended for use to fund or enhance the abilities of small farmers in adapting to climate change and for skills-building in order to assist residents to earn an income or begin a small business.

The program added that the estimates of the Libya Humanitarian Response Plan for 2021 indicate that 699,000 people need food aid to earn a livelihood.
