French Foreign Minister, Jean-Yves Le Drian has expressed concern about the situation in Libya, due to what he called "the failure of the solution proposed by the United Nations to the conflict parties".

Le Drian said in a hearing before the French parliament on Tuesday that the UN proposed roadmap failed because of Haftar's move on Tripoli and the lack of initiative from Fayez Sarraj.

"President Emmanuel Macron has called for a cease-fire under international supervision and is seeking to meet Al-Sarraj and Haftar to back up the political solution in Libya," Le Drian added.
