The foreign ministers of Egypt, Algeria, and Tunisia reaffirmed their support of a political solution in Libya.

During their meeting in Algiers on Monday, the ministers discussed their countries' efforts in supporting Libyans to overcome the political stalemate in order to preserve the unity of Libya, its sovereignty and territorial integrity, renewing their support for the action plan for Libya presented by the UN special envoy Ghassan Salame.

The concluding statement stressed the importance of the international role in implementing the terms of the political agreement, with a view to ending the Libyan crisis and building strong national institutions, most of all a unified army and security services with the task of maintaining public security and combating terrorism.
