Foreign Minister Mohamed Sayala said that they had called on the international community
to bring pressure to bear on Haftar to halt the fighting and move forward with a political solution in accordance with the UN plan.
"The diplomatic efforts have succeeded in convincing Britain to request the Security Council to convene a meeting, in addition to issuing statements of condemnation by a number of countries and organizations on the war on Tripoli," the Foreign Minister explained in a press conference.
Sayala faced intense criticism for what was described as his negative position towards the recent developments in Tripoli amid demands for his dismissal.
