Foreign Minister Mohamed Siyala said that foreign interference in Libya has the primary responsibility for destabilizing the country and that the security of the southern region is under threat.

In an interview with Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper, Siyala explained that such interventions are disrupting the course of building Libya's future, demanding what he described the “foreign powers” to withdraw from the Libyan scene and leave the Libyans to determine their future.

He added that the government is seeking to coordinate with the defence and security forces in the four countries that attended the Niamey border security meeting and to intensify cooperation between the intelligence services in order to conduct joint operations that would promote development projects along the common borders between Libya, Sudan, Chad and Niger.
