The Foreign Minister of Presidential Council, Mohamed Siyala, called on neighboring African countries on Friday to work with his government to protect Libya`s southern border in order to curb the influx of illegal immigrants.

During a speech at an international conference on migration hosted by Niger, Siyala said border control will make achievement and great successes in the management of the migration crisis and its serious consequences, pointing out that he is not opposed to migration, but opposes the exploitation of organized crime gangs to achieve profits from human trafficking.

He explained that addressing the repercussions of the migration crisis is not limited to the security perspective alone, but should be through a comprehensive vision covering security, humanitarian and development issues.

Siyala noted that this achievement of security and stability can only be achieved through the support of EU.
