Foreign Minister, Mohamed Sayala expressed his disapproval and condemnation of the statements made by the UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Anwar Gargash, in which he stated that "Libya's priority is to fight terrorism" and that his country supports stability; in reference to his country's support to Khalifa Haftar's military campaign against the capital Tripoli.
"Such remarks are a tool of war and undermine the efforts of building a democratic civilian state," Sayala said.
He also pointed to the glaring contradiction of the UAE minister's remarks, in which on one side he confirms his country's support for stability in Libya, while at the same time he supports the war on Tripoli and ignores that what Haftar is doing in Tripoli is the outright terrorism.
