Foreign Minister Mohamed Sayala stated Sunday that Libyans reject the existence of any military base on Libyan territory, explaining that their request is limited to providing assistance to enhance the Libyan force's capacities.

Sayala's statements came in response to a question by Russian news agency Sputnik about the US intention to establish a military base in Libya, saying "Libya welcomes any actors working to raise the efficiency of the Libyan security forces".

The head of the Presidential Council, Fayez Al-Sarraj, requested Saturday, the commander of AFRICOM, Thomas Waldhauser, to prepare a field training program for Libyan military units under the supervision of Africom trainers.
