Foreign Minister, Mohamed Sayala has discussed with the UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres the latest developments on the ground and the humanitarian situation in Libya.

During the meeting, Sayala briefed the UN chief on the effects of the war waged on Tripoli, and the tragic human and property cost of such offensive, including attacks on medical facilities and staff, and the targeting of civilian facilities, the latest of which was a food factory.

He also highlighted the negative effect of the involvement of foreign fighters in the Libyan conflict -in reference to Russian and African mercenaries fighting alongside Haftar's militias- and the need to alert the countries concerned.
