The Libyan Football Federation carried out Thursday the draw for the Libyan League, after three delays, setting January 25 as the date for the kickoff.

The draw Thursday gave a ray of hope for resuming football matches in Libya after about a two-year suspension due to the aggression on Tripoli in 2019 and later the Coronavirus pandemic, let alone the refusal of east-based clubs to participate in the league before receiving financial support from the Youth and Sports Authority, which this time promised to send financial support before the start of the league.

The Libyan Football League will be held in two groups (east and west). Each group has 12 teams playing first-leg matches only. The first and second of each of the two groups qualifies to semifinals. The first of east plays second of west and vice versa. The winners then play the final of the Libyan League to win this season's title.
