The Director of the Information Office at the Food and Drug Control Center, Mohamed Al-Zayat, confirmed the release of a shipment of the Chinese “Sinopharm Covid-19” vaccine, estimated at approximately 3 million doses.
Al-Zayat further explained that the shipment was subjected to all necessary laboratory procedures at the center’s drug control laboratories, which included physical, chemical and bacterial analysis, the results of which showed its conformity to all technical specifications, confirming it is permitted for human consumption.
The National Center for Disease Control, last October, announced the arrival of 3 million doses of the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine, bringing the total vaccines imported to 5 million doses.
