Firefighters managed to control a fire that erupted over the past two days near the crude oil transporting lines between Amal field and Ras Lanuf Port south of Aqeelah town.

A leak occurred in line "30" which link the field of Amal and the port of Ras Lanuf south of the area of Aqeelah, sources from the area confirmed.

The oil released from the damaged line created a small oil lake next to the lines; at dawn the next day, a traffic accident over the oil spill ignited the flames of the leaking crude.
