Member of the Finance and Economic Committee of the High Council of State Saad Abu-Sharada said that the Presidential Council would postpone lifting subsidies on fuel until the end of 2018, in order to stabilize the livelihood of the people and to ensure the availability of liquidity to provide cash support instead of fuel subsidies.
Abu-Sharada explained that the subsidies on fuel will be lifted gradually in the course of several months, as it will raise the price from 150 dirhams per litre of gasoline to a quarter of a dinar and then to 350 dirhams, before eliminating the subsidies, without specifying a time limit.
