The Man-made River Authority (MMRA) has confirmed that its team in Gharyan city west of Tripoli on Wednesday managed to stop leakage from a badly damaged transmission line of the Souk Al-Khamis water system that was deliberately vandalized by some farm owners, according to the MMRA.

It indicated that the maintenance teams are still dealing with another leak in the Rqaiat area, confirming that they are facing difficulties due to the water's force and the breakdown of the lock valve gears.

The MMRA emphasized its crew is making every effort to repair the damage in order to restore water supplies as soon as possible.

It also called on the security and police authorities to provide security to this vital area and hold those responsible for the damage accountable.
