The European Union has reiterated the need for the conflicting parties in Libya to return to the 5 + 5 Committee negotiation table, to achieve a permanent ceasefire agreement and to initiate a political process to resolve the crisis under the umbrella of the United Nations.

Speaking on behalf of the European Foreign Service, Nabila Massrali explained that EU officials are presently conducting diplomatic discussions at all levels with ‘all parties to the conflict’ but also ‘those countries aiding them,’ in order to prevent further deterioration in the country.
