The Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor called on Sunday, the Libyan authorities to respect the right of peaceful assembly and expression, after hundreds demonstrators hit the streets in several cities protesting the political deadlock and the difficult living conditions.

“We urge everyone to respect public property and refrain from all forms of violence”, Euro-Med Monitor tweeted.

On Friday, demonstrations took place in several cities, including Tripoli, Tobruk, Sabha, and Misrata, protesting the difficult living conditions, demanding the dissolution of all existing political bodies and the holding of elections.
