The European Union High Representative for Security and Foreign Policy, Josep Borrell, has said that there are no indications that Tripoli might fall in the hands of Haftar, underlining that a street war in the city will have bad effects on civilians.

Borrell denied in statements published by Aki news portal any plans for the EU regarding the future of Tripoli, saying that they are not a party to what is happening on the ground, in reference to Haftar's threats to storm the city.

He called on all parties involved in the conflict to stop the violence and spare the residents of Tripoli the escalation.
