EU representatives declare support to entrepreneurship and the private sector

A project was launched by the Ministry of Planning with the support of the European Union to promote entrepreneurship, private sector development and economic diversification in Libya.

The event was attended by the Vice Chairman of the Presidential Council, Ahmed Maiteiq, the Minister for Planning, Tahir Jahimi, the European Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy, Johannes Hahn, the French Ambassador to Libya, Brigitte Curmi, the Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, Siddiq Al-Kabir, and a number of government ministers.

The European side expressed their readiness to provide technical support and all that is needed by the European Union to support the Libyan side.

It was agreed during the meeting that communication on this matter and follow-up would be vital to the success of these projects as this is of great importance to the Libyan economy.
