The European Union Ambassador to Libya, Alan Bugeja reiterated on Sunday the EU's support for the National Oil Corporation (NOC) in its efforts to revive production as soon as possible for the benefit of the Libyan people.

This came during a meeting held by the NOC head, Mustafa Sanallah, with Bugeja at the NOC's HQ in Tripoli, in which they discussed the repercussions of the illegal shutdown of oil operations which consists the lifeline of the economy in the country.

The meeting shed light on the current issue regarding the presence of foreign mercenaries in the Sharara oil field reported last Thursday. The two sides reaffirmed they would continue cooperation, in order to get the oil sector in Libya back on track.
