The Head of the European Union (EU) Office in Libya confirmed that the EU delegation supports Libya's efforts to recover its assets  from abroad.

The remarks came in a meeting with the Libyan Asset Recovery Management Office (LARMO) with representatives of a number of EU organizations in Libya.

The Head of the EU Office indicated they are ready to support LARMO by helping develop human capabilities in a way that enhances the level of outstanding performance of the staff.

The two sides stressed the importance of joint cooperation and activating mechanisms to contribute to strengthening channels of communication with the European countries that hold Libyan assets.

LARMO is engaged in legal battles in a number of European courts to preserve Libyan assets, as some foreign and Arab companies have exploited the political division in Libya to seize Libyan assets.
