The European Union (EU) emphasized that there is no military solution to the Libyan crisis, urging all disputing parties to return to political dialogue based on the Paris, Palermo, and Abu Dhabi agreements.

"The military attack on Tripoli and the subsequent escalation constitutes a threat to international peace and security, and increases the risk of terrorist threat throughout Libya," the EU warned in a statement.

It also expressed concern at the rising number of deaths, injuries, and internally displaced persons, stressing the need to protect civilians, including migrants and refugees, as well as facilitating safe access of humanitarian assistance to all those affected.
