The Secretary General of the European External Action Service, Helga Schmidt has said that there is a unanimous view on the necessity to end the conflict in Libya through a political process.

The EU official wrote this on her Twitter account in response to the meeting of the Berlin Conference follow-up committee on Libya, which took place on Thursday.

Schmidt, who was representing the EU in this session described the dialogue as being "frank", citing it had come in a timely manner.

She also stressed the need to give priority to reducing escalation, enhancing the ceasefire and resuming oil production, according to Aki news agency.
