The European Union refused to expel the Libyan EU ambassador on the background of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between Turkey and Libya.

Spokesman for the European Commissioner, Peter Stano, has said that the EU recognizes the Government of National Accord and still considers it an interlocutor, noting that Greece's decision to expel the Libyan ambassador does not fall within the authority of the union, according to Italian news agency AKI.

Stano added that the European Union is still in the process of studying the content of the memo and will announce its position later, clarifying that he has discussed the memo with Turkish foreign minister, and that they will have further talks on the matter in the ministers meeting Next Monday.
