The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has welcomed the provision of a grant provided by the European Union (EU) to increase the prevention of tuberculosis detection and treatment services throughout the country.

According to the IOM, immigrants and displaced persons are the most vulnerable groups to contract tuberculosis, due to the decrease in immunity resulting from insufficient nutrition, bad living conditions and a lack of access to early detection services.

According to estimates by the IOM, access to food is the main obstacle and challenge for many illegal immigrants presently living in Libya.
