The European Union has pledged to move toward assisting Libya to escape the present crisis, once a political process, dialogue and reconciliation is reinitiated during the next stage of the talks.

The European Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement, Olivér Várhelyi, stressed, during a hearing at the European Parliament, the affirmation that the EU is committed to assisting the Libyans to build an effective economy and a system rigid on the immigration issue, once a ceasefire has been reached in the country.

The European Commissioner also affirmed the EU's commitment the outcomes of the Berlin Conference.
