The European Union has condemned the killing of a Sudanese migrant, who it said, was killed by the Libyan Coast Guard, stressing that the use of live bullets against unarmed civilians is considered unacceptable.

In a statement to AFP, a spokeswoman for the EU foreign minister called on the Libyan authorities to open an investigation to clarify the circumstances of this incident and take the necessary measures to ensure that such matter would not occur again.
