Libya's ambassador to the European Union, Hafez Kaddour, confirmed that the European Parliament has cancelled an invitation from one of its deputies to the foreign minister of the parallel east-based government to visit Brussels.
Kaddour explained in a press statement that the invitation was cancelled after his contact with Forza Italia party -which made the invitation- and other Italian and European politicians.
The Libyan mission to the EU issued an official statement expressing its surprise at the invitation made to a "Libyan citizen who posed as Libya's foreign minister" according to Libya's mission to the EU.
