The European Union (EU) has renewed its call to all players involved in the Libyan conflict and those supporting them, to move towards a political solution under the umbrella of the Berlin Conference.

According to the Italian news agency Aki, the call came after a statement by the Tobruk-based parliament giving a ‘green-light’ for Egyptian military intervention.

A spokesperson for the High Representative for Security and Foreign Policy, Josep Borrell, revealed that the EU is considering tightening sanctions on violators of the Berlin Conference, particularly in relation to the Security Council’s resolution on the arms embargo.
