The Ambassador of the European Union to Libya, Jose Sabadell met in the city of Benghazi with warlord Khalifa Haftar to discuss current events, security situation and withdrawal of foreign forces.
Both sides discussed the need to focus in the next stage on the need for stability and unity and to move forward in line with the desire for elections expressed by the Libyan people.
“We confirmed our support to the Libyan Joint Military Committee 5 + 5 and the ongoing conversations to reunify the military institutions as key components of peace”, Sabadell tweeted.
