The EU Ambassador to Libya, Alan Bugeja urged all parties to the conflict in Libya to adopt the truce, which the UN envoy to Libya, Ghassan Salame is working to secure on Eid al-Adha.

"The truce is not only for the convenience of the people most affected but it would be a step forward towards ending the violence and returning to the political process," Bugeja said in his congratulations statement to the Libyan people on Eid al-Adha.

The Presidential Council announced yesterday its consent to the truce proposed by the UN envoy, while Haftar ordered his troops to continue the fighting.
