The Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called on NATO to support the new Government of National Unity (GNU).

Erdogan held discussions over telephone with NATO’s Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg, on Friday, on developments in the Aegean Eastern Mediterranean, Libya and Afghanistan files, along with the Russian-Ukrainian crisis.

Erdogan stressed to Stoltenberg the necessity to provide support for the new Libyan government in the areas of defense and security, whilst indicating that Turkey is making contributions in this direction within the framework of the agreements reached with the Libyan side.
