The General Electricity Company of Libya has warned that the newly operated fourth turbine of Ubari power plant will be shut down once the oil stock operating it runs out.

The warning came following a statement by the National Oil Corporation about the suspension of crude oil supplies to Ubari power plant due to the closure of an oil valve by unknown gunmen.

Sources from Ubari plant confirmed that the oil stock is enough for only one month.

The General Electricity Company successfully operated the 4th turbine of Ubari power plant using crude oil on July 13. The power output was connected to the electric grid; a step aimed to reduce load-shedding hours especially in the southern region.
