The elders of the western region have condemned the assassinations committed by Haftar’s allies in Tarhouna against their opponents in the city.

In a statement following a meeting in the city of Zliten on Monday, the elders welcomed the Presidential Council's statement regarding the extrajudicial killings of people.

They reaffirmed their rejection to accept, what they described "the terrorist Haftar" in any future settlement, reiterating their opposition to the military rule in exchange for their adherence to the civilian track.

They also called on the Government of National Accord to sever ties with France, the UAE, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia, for their involvement in the killing of the Libyan people, according to the statement.
