Dignitaries and elders of the Tabu tribe in Murzuq denied expelling people from the city.

"Those who left the city are a group of outlaws who were involved in crimes committed recently, against the Tabu in Murzuq," the tribe's representatives explained in a video statement.

They added that families who fled the city for fear of clashes have begun to return gradually, after the improved security conditions experienced in the city.

A foreign armed group is using Wadi al-Anz area, south of Sabha to launch attacks against areas of the southern region, according to the statement, denying the presence of any opposition Chadian groups in Murzuq.
