The Egyptian House of Representatives (HoR) agreed on Monday to dispatch armed military forces, on what he described as ‘combat missions’, outside of Egypt, in a westerly strategic direction, in an implicit reference to Libya.

The HoR said in a statement that the agreement was reached at a closed-door session to consider granting the mandate to President Al-Sisi to send the military forces to Libya, stating that these forces would defend Egyptian national security with no more further details.

Egypt claims to reject all foreign interference in Libya, however, it has been fully supportive of Haftar and his militias since 2015.
