The representative of the Manpower Committee in the Egyptian Parliament, Ahmed Mhenni, considered that the decision to bring one million Egyptian workers to partake in work in Libya, good news for workers who have been prevented from travelling abroad for work due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Mhenni added, in a press statement, that the decisions and agreements that took place in the previous period, regarding the return of Egyptian workers and to assist with the reconstruction of Libya, comes within the framework of encouraging stability and support between Egypt and Libya generally.

It is worth noting that the Government of National Unity (GNU) signed, on the side-lines of the work of the Joint Libyan-Egyptian Committee in Cairo, contracts worth literally billions of dollars with Egyptian companies, along with promises to permit entry of one million Egyptian workers into the country in order to support the Libyan labour market.
