The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, Brigadier General Abdul Salam Ashour, held an extensive meeting with the mayors and security chiefs of the western and mountain region, in presence of the chairman of the Board of Directors of Brega Oil Marketing Company and the Fuel and Gas Crisis Committee.

The meeting focused on ways to stop the ongoing fuel smuggling and the need to coordinate with the relevant authorities in order to reduce this phenomenon and alleviate the crisis on the citizen.

In a statement to local news sites, Ashour said that the meeting agreed on a series of measures to tackle this phenomenon with the support of the Ministries of Defense, Interior and the security managers at the borders.

The participants also agreed to form a follow-up committee composed of the mayors and security managers for pursuing the process of distributing fuel in coordination with the crisis committee of Brega Oil Company.
