An attack took place at dawn, at the Fuwayhat police station in Benghazi by a group of soldiers from the Special Forces unit of Khalifa Hefter’s Libyan National Army.

A number of prison officers were wounded in the attack that saw a number of prisoners set free and smuggled from the scene.

It is worth noting that a similar incident took place on the Benghazi Security Directorate in the Baraka area by the same military force approximately one month ago, killing an officer and leading to a number of vehicles being stolen, then later fleeing.

Khalifa Hefter’s command stated at the time that an investigation would begin on the crime but until now there have been no results or arrests.
