The so-called interim government in eastern Libya imposed Monday fees for the entry and departure of people and vehicles from the Egyptian side from Libyan territory.

The minister of interior of the government, Ibrahim Bushanaf, addressed minister of finance, Kamel Abrik, in an official letter to take necessary measures to raise the value of the entry and departure fees for Egyptian citizens, according to the parallel Libyan news agency.

Bushanaf justified in his letter the new decision to a similar decision adopted by the Egyptian authorities to increase the entrance and depart fees for Libyan citizens from and in the Egyptian territory, pointing out that their step was based on “the principle of reciprocity.”
