The official spokesman for the east-based Interim Government Hatem Al-Oreibi said Monday that all security restrictions on the travel of Libyan citizens through the government-control borders have been cancelled.

Al-Oreibi explained that the step came in respect of freedom of movement without prior security permissions, as he put it.

Earlier, authorities in eastern Libya obliged citizens willing to travel abroad through its borders to obtain a security approval to allow them to leave the country.
